Laminate Floor Edging
Are you tired of the beading and scotia for laminate floor edging? Perhaps you are looking for laminate flooring edging options?
Here at Quality Carpet Trims, we have an excellent laminate floor edging alternative for your home
Our solid brass, self-adhesive laminate floor edging strips are robust, stylish, discreet and very easy to fit
Available in 10 colours designed to complement your laminate floor edges.
They are also available in 5 sizes, which size you pick depends on the thickness of your laminate flooring and underlay and also how far out on to the laminate you wish to come.
Choose from 3 lengths, if you plan your room out well, you can have very little waste, for joins it’s best to butt factory edges together, but that’s not essential as cuts will butt together well
With all these options you will easily edge your laminate flooring, and it will look stunning, far better than the MDF beading which never really looks that great and snaps and cracks after short periods of time.
Now you can have a discreet hard wearing laminate floor edging which will last better and look fabulous
You can also use the trim to edge around a fireplace or along French doors, this will give you a matching finish throughout.
The pre-applied, very strong, self-adhesive tape is fitted on the face of the trim (see images) and is designed to be stuck to your skirting or patio doors, this allows for flooring expansion
These premier trims, laminate floor edging strips will ultimately give you a much superior finish when compared to plastic or aluminium trims and also beading or scotia
Fitting
All surfaces should be cleaned/degreased before adhesion.
Corners are best mitred, much like you would with a beading or scotia.
Make your cuts with a good quality hacksaw with a new blade.
Flooring Pro’s Fitting Tip
Place masking tape where you are going to cut, this will prevent the hacksaw blade slipping and scratching the trim, it will give you a far cleaner cut

Laminate Floor Edge Care and Maintenance
Brass
Remove spills immediately to limit corrosion with white vinegar. Brass will tarnish over time and we recommend a polishing cloth such as HG copper shine cloth available from most DIY stores. Avoid contact with floor coverings.
Should corrosion appear, we use this finishing pad, Mirka Total Finishing pad P1500 (grey). Rub the area to remove contamination and buff up with HG copper shine cloth.

Should corrosion appear, we use this finishing pad, Mirka Total Finishing pad P1500 (grey). Rub the area to remove contamination and buff up with HG copper shine cloth. This may go down to the solid brass base however over time the ‘rubbed’ lighter area will tarnish/blend into the antique finish.
